The Pentatonic Scale and Blues Scale

On the Left we have two octave Minor Pentatonic scale. This is great scale to try after your spider because it is a balanced scale with two notes per string. Playing with alternate picking each string will have a down and then up stroke.
On the right we have modified the pentatonic scale by adding a note on string 5 and string 3. This is often referred to as the blues note or flat 5th. The resulting scale is known as the minor blues scale.
